The 2007 Campaign

Planning for remaining campaign efforts, including voter contact, GOTV, and election day

  • Donation from Matthews campaign to support a mailer to strong and leaning Dems in city
  • Reminder calls?
  • Staffing polling places
  • "Election protection"
    • We need an attorney available to help resolve issues with challenged voters
    • Election night pre-canvass: need one volunteer
    • Wednesday canvass: need one or more volunteers to observe the Electoral Board as they finalize the ocunt
  • Election night party?

Eight in '08 Petition Drive

Initiative from the state party to get all eight nominees on the ballot; the deadline for submitting notarized petitions is December 14.

December Reorganization Caucus

We reorganize in December of odd-numbered years, following every gubenatornatoriial and state senate election.

  • DPVA Guidelines for 2007 Reorganization
  • Proposed motion: "Resolved that the Fredericksburg Democratic committee will hold its 2007 reorganization caucus on Saturday, 9 December 2007, at 12:00 noon in the District Court of Fredericksburg."
  • Notice requirements: "at least seven (7) days but not more than two (w) weeks, prior to the date of the election."
