RESOLUTION of RECOGNITION AND GRATITUDE

WHEREAS, Lewis P. Fickett, Jr. has had a distinguished career as the head of the Political Science Department at Mary Washington College where he taught and influenced many students to enhance their political understanding and involvement; and,

WHEREAS, Lewis P. Fickett, Jr. has been an active member of this Fredericksburg Democratic Committee for many years; and,

WHEREAS, Lewis P. Fickett, Jr. has provided distinguished service to the Democratic Party of Virginia and was elected as a delegate to the National Democratic Convention; and,

WHEREAS, Lewis P. Fickett, Jr. represented the City of Fredericksburg and surrounding localities in the Virginia House of Delegates; and,

WHEREAS, Lewis P. Fickett, Jr. has been a role model for responsible local political activism and has always expounded his views on issues of regional concern with alacrity and persuasiveness.

NOW, THEREFORE, this Committee hereby recognizes, applauds, and thanks Lewis P. Fickett, Jr. for the decades of his distinguished service and numerous accomplishments as a member of this Committee and as a regional, state, and national leader demonstrating the highest virtues and ideals of the Democratic Party.
