You can visit his on-line headquarters and learn what you can do to help his effort here.
The 97th includes parts of parts of Caroline, Hanover, Henrico, King and Queen, King William, New Kent and Spotsylvania Counties.
John's effort follows on the heels of two important special election victories:
- Democrat Shannon Valentine won an impressive victory Tuesday, January 10th in a special election in the 23rd House District, claiming a Lynchburg seat for Democrats that had been in Republican hands for decades.
- Del. Dan Bowling's January 3rd win in the 3rd District (Buchanan, Tazewell and Russell county) was the other win (not a pickup; Bowling successfully defended the seat to which he had been appointed following the retirement of Jackie Stump). See the story in the Richlands Times
Another special election is on the ballot in the Senate's 33rd District, which stretches from Leesburg in Loudoun County to western Fairfax County. Mark Herring will face Dick Black protégé Mick Staton in a Jan. 31 special election. You can learn more about Mark's campaign here.
